Independent Study Psychology 195: Senior Thesis Students with substantive and methodological preparation and a consistent record of strong narrative evaluations may be eligible to apply to write a senior thesis. Students should start planning no later than the first quarter of their senior year. Most faculty prefer to sponsor senior theses that are integrated with faculty research, so students are encouraged to talk with faculty well before choosing a senior thesis topic. Information and applications are available in the Psychology Office. Psychology 199: Tutorial Students who want to research a topic in-depth may enroll in Psychology 199, Tutorial. Topics for a tutorial may come from a class lecture or a group research project or a student might want to write a literature search on a topic. Tutorials require a faculty sponsor and advanced planning. The Psychology Office has a handout outlining steps to this rewarding experience.
